Supporting Disabled and Paralympic Athletes
The Shane Alderman Trust was set up in March 2009 to support disabled and paralympic athletes. The name of the Trust comes from the first athlete that we supported – Shane Alderman. Shane has given up competing at the moment and is at college with the aim of helping other young athletes to reach their goals. We all wish him the best of luck.
The Trust is now helping several other athletes (for details see Athletes). The cost of this support is around £10,000 a year, which is raised through charity walks, swims, runs, cycle rides, quizzes, boot fairs, garden parties, corporate and personal donations or any other method we can think of.
The Shane Alderman Charitable Trust is a small Charity which relies entirely on the generosity of individuals and several Charitable Organisations (Dorking Round Table, The Lions, Kings Hill W.I., The Worshipful Company of Wheelwrights and The Tartan Trust) and the Hiscox Foundation.
