Supporting Disabled and Paralympic Athletes
Mr Pete Mortlock
I am Shane Alderman’s Grandfather. After years of supporting Shane and helping him to reach his full potential and after many fruitless attempts to get financial support for him, it became evident that organisations were unwilling to support a lone athlete. I therefore decided to set up a Charitable Trust and since then, we have been able to support many athletes on their journeys. Shane has stopped competing and we are presently supporting two young athletes and would dearly love to support more.

After a 25 year career in the city managing global business initiatives across several sectors, Jane now lives in Kent with her partner Richard and their bulldog puppy Teddy. Jane’s experience in managing key business relationships, networking skills and marketing knowledge makes her an ideal fit for the Trust, where she is working to widen our reach and increase awareness amongst our community in order to further support our athletes in their quest for sporting success.

Mr John Slate
After 45 years working for HMG, I wanted to turn my energies to helping others. I know Shane’s family very well and when it was decided to help Shane by setting up a Charity, I was approached to be a Trustee. That was 6 years ago and it is satisfying to see how much we have been able to help the athletes that we have been supporting and to see how they can achieve their potential despite their disabilities. When two of our supported athletes took part in the 2012 London Paralympics – with one achieving a bronze medal in the Ladies Wheelchair Doubles – it made all of our efforts worthwhile.
